In a reversal of philosophy, the California Highway Patrol will reward the fastest driver who qualifies in the Hyundai Monterey SportsCar Championship. The CHP Pole Award will be presented at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Sunday, Nov. 1 to the driver who secures the pole position in the powerful Daytona Prototype International (Dpi) class, which is the top-tier racing class featured in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
