1968 Ford GT40

One of the fascinating lots is a 1968 Ford GT40 that was created as a homage during 2017 and 2018. But this is no ordinary homage, as it was created by the late Terry Drury who worked for Ford at the start of the GT40 development and also raced them as a privateer. Whilst retaining his close links to Ford, he amassed his own collection of original spare parts which included a works 320ci Gurney-Weslake Ford V8 and a ZF Le Mans gearbox. These were then used to create what has been acknowledged as one of the most extraordinary accurate and faithful monocoque GT40.

The next outstanding lot is a 1982 Ferrari 512 BBi which is one of the 42 UK supplied cars and has been owned by the same family from new. Supplied in June of that year in right-hand drive and finished in Rosso with a Tan leather interior, this one owner car has been meticulously maintained by both main dealers and marque specialists. In 1997 a substantial restoration was undertaken and a fresh coat of Rosso was applied. Now with 20,964 miles, this is a very special car for any discerning Ferrari enthusiast.

1974 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 Roadster (1).jpg

To find a Best of Breed contender is always very special as it shows the care and attention that has been lavished on the car. This 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 Roadster is one of those such cars. With just under 35,000 miles this V12 car is superbly presented in Signal Red with tinted windows, soft black hide, chrome wire wheels, and a works hardtop that has recently been restored. This car has been fastidiously maintained and upgraded benefitting from Ziebart corrosion protection from new and recent detailing with a full Swissvax. This is an immaculate, matching numbers, manual car with a Heritage Certificate.

Harry Whale, Silverstone Auctions Sales Manager commented: “These are some of the high-quality cars already consigned to our live online auction on the 23rd May.”

“We are still inviting entries and our specialist team is on hand to talk any prospective vendors through the process in a safe manner.”

“Silverstone Auctions are delighted to bring you this sale whilst monitoring and operating under Government guidelines.”

All the cars will be kept in a single secure storage facility where they may be viewed by appointment only and in line with Government guidelines. Buyers will be able to bid via several online bidding partners, phone or leave a commission bid. Fees for this auction have been set at 10% plus VAT for Buyers and 4% plus VAT for Sellers.

If you would like to consign your car into The May Live Auction on the 23rd of May, the team can be contacted on 01926 691141 or email enquiries@silverstoneauctions.com and would be happy to talk with you and help you through the process of consigning your car.
